Jessica is a physiotherapist specialising in pain management.
Jess graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) from AUT university in New Zealand. She has worked in a private practice and gained experience working with multiple sporting and community organisations, here and in New Zealand. She has worked with an array of sports teams in local, regional and national levels, as well as in schools and aged care facilities. Jess returned to AUT to study Western Acupuncture and went on to complete her Master of Health Practice in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.
It was during this time she developed an interest in persistent pain and its complex biopsychosocial factors. She utilises a combination of manual therapy, exercise prescription, education, mindfulness and breathing retraining to help treat the patient’s pain, improve their functionality and reclaim their quality of life. Jess believes in working alongside patients, allowing them to decide what is important so she can develop treatment strategies that have more meaning to the patient. She also believes a cohesive plan between a multidisciplinary team creates the best outcomes for the patients. She is passionate about helping patients overcome their disabilities to achieve their goals and live happy and healthy lives.
