Dr Andy Kwok embarked on his medical journey by earning his undergraduate degree in medicine from Dundee, Scotland in 2008. Following a foundation in medical training, he achieved Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in London in 2012. Dr Kwok further honed his expertise, specialising in anaesthesia and pain management at prestigious institutions such as the London St George’s School of Anaesthesia and the Barts and the London School of Anaesthesia, culminating in his accreditations with the Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) in 2018 and the Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FFPMRCA) in 2021. His commitment to excellence propelled him to pursue additional qualifications, including the European Diploma of Pain Medicine (EDPM) awarded by the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Therapy in 2023.
Dr Kwok worked as consultant in anaesthesia and pain medicine at the Barts NHS Trust in London since 2021 with his main scope of work focusing in managing complex chronic pain patients. Dr Kwok's expertise extends to neuromodulation, an area in which he holds a postgraduate certification with distinction from the London Queen Mary University. He also served as an honorary consultant at the London St George’s Hospital NHS Trust, providing specialised neuromodulation services for pain management.
Dr Kwok recognises the profound impact of persistent pain on patients and their family, and he has cultivated extensive experience in managing complex pain conditions including musculoskeletal pain, complex spinal pain, pelvic pain, orofacial pain, and complex regional pain syndrome.
Dr Kwok is proficient in administering a range of interventional treatments, including spinal nerve and peripheral nerve injections, epidurals injections, spinal cord stimulation, PRP treatment and prolotherapy.
He advocates for a patient-centred approach to pain management, emphasising comprehensive assessment and treatment in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
