DR ANTHONY NJO

Dr Njo has been practising in the specialised field of Pain Medicine for over 12 years and in the field of Anaesthesiology for 20 years.

Anthony graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Hong Kong in 2001. After completing his Fellowship in Anaesthesiology at the Australian & New Zealand College and the Hong Kong College, he began to notice a passion for helping patients suffering from pain.

He started practice in Pain Medicine in 2009 with dual Pain Medicine Fellowships at the Australian and Hong Kong Colleges. Dr Njo also holds a master degree in Public Health.

Anthony was one of the leaders in the development of Pain Medicine in Hong Kong. He introduced and promoted new interventional procedures for pain and founded both the Chronic Pain Management Programme and the enhanced recovery after surgery programme in the public sector.

Anthony is committed to helping patients with all types of chronic pain with a multidisciplinary approach. He is an experienced interventional pain specialist, helping patients to diagnose and alleviate their pain with evidence-based interventions where appropriate.

 Anthony believes that though there may be no magic bullet to treat chronic pain, with a comprehensive individual assessment and a tailored treatment plan, patients can be empowered to take control of their pain and get back to living life.

Anthony moved to Melbourne with his wife and two children in 2021 to begin this new chapter in life.

His multilingual proficiency (English, Cantonese and Mandarin) enables him to work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
